Where are our bookworms at?!

Who else has a night stand that is filled with books? At this very moment I have eight books and my journal. It would be ten but I actually just got done reading two (LOL) but I always pay it forward and gift them to others after finishing. I don’t want one more thing to dust around here!

I have loved to read since I was a little girl. As I’ve gotten older, I find myself deep diving into the self discovery books, how-tos on being a successful small business owner and of course all the leadership books I can get my hands on. Now don’t get me wrong, I still love a good romance and anything that has to do with vampires and werewolves. Bet you guys didn’t see that coming! You might be wondering why I have all of these paperback books instead of listening to them on audio or reading them from a tech device… Nope, that’s not for me. I’m still that person that loves to go to the library or a local bookstore. The mustier the bookstore smells, the better. You know what I’m talking about!

I bet you didn’t know the average American reads 12 books a year according to this article.

Well, this year I am on a mission to read 40 books. Broken down that’s about three books a month. It might be a hefty goal but I know I can achieve it by cutting down my screen time by 50%. I know my brain and eyes will thank me. Especially when the average human spends almost 5.5 hours a day on a phone. WTH!! No wonder our brains hurt.
