The Big C

Now that I have your attention with the title {LOL} let’s talk about how Covid brought a lot of clarity into my personal and business life.

At this time last year we were all in the thick of so many emotions (as Facebook likes to remind me daily with my memories). In those moments, I remember telling myself that if I didn’t keep moving forward and just became still, I would be paralyzed with fear. Most of the fear came from thinking we would lose Trixies. What would our staff do, our guests, and our family?! Some days the fear could have had me curled up in the fetal position and wanting to give up. If I’m being very honest, I did have a handful of those days, but it’s amazing how strong the human spirit is when we’re not willing to give up. We will fight with all of our being when we believe in something, someone, and most importantly, ourselves.

Living through Covid hasn’t been the hardest thing I’ve been through in my life. What it has done is brought me many aha moments. Moments that I don’t want to forget that I’ve learned from: moments of how I want to show up in this world and how I truly want to make a difference for my family, community, employees, and the beauty industry. Covid helped shed a light on how important our industry is and the impact that we make on our guests and our communities. I think we would have been voted one of the essential non-essentials! It has also brought awareness to us personally at Trixies on areas of opportunity that we know will make a difference for our guests and staff.

I look forward to 2021 and the amazing opportunities that we will be given personally and professionally.

I have a life new motto and it reads
~there is beauty in simplicity~

I remind myself of this daily and how far we’ve come and what we’ve overcame this last year and half.
