Tommy ispart of the fabulous team atGigi’s Pilates Studio & Personal Training. He trains our owner, Tricia Rivas, and introduced us to Advocare. Here is a bit about him followed by a Q&A session we did.
Tommyisa National Federation of Personal Trainers (NFPT) and International Sports Conditioning Association (ISCA) certified personal trainer. He grew up in a small town just outside of Raleigh, North Carolina. Tommyis alsothe culinary chef (the “food dude”) in Gigi’s new Nutrition Kitchen, because he’ll soon be earning his AAS degree in culinary arts from DMACC. Tommy combines his fitness knowledge and his nutritional and cooking skills for a one-two punch that helps clients jump start their health and wellness.
Q. How long have you been a personal trainer and Why did you get into it?
A. I’ve been a personal trainer for 2 years. I’ve always had a love for fitness anda passion for helping people and this allows me to do both on a daily basis.
Q. How many times do you like to see your clients per week?
A. I like to see people at least twice a week. It allows me to focus more on what each person needs to meet their specific goals.
Q. Why Gigi’s? What makes it so special to you…
A. I can’t imagine doing this anywhere but Gigi’s. It’s rare in this industry (sadly) to be in an enviroment like this one working for people who care as much as Rodney and Gigi do. It’s great to see two people who aren’t just in it to make money. They genuinely want to help each person who comes in the door. And the same goes for all my co-workers.
Q. Why do you choose to endorse advocare?
A. I chose to support Advocare for the same reason as why I love Gigis. I’ve never seen a company that cares as much for their customers as this one. There aren’t many companies who will tell you not to spend a ton of money on their product just for the sake of it. They are very concerned with getting the customer exactly what they need, instead of just what sells. I also chose to support AdvoCare because their products are, without a doubt, the best there is. I’ve been around a lot of supplements over the last few years and the results that I’ve had personally are absolutley amazing. I feel comfortable recommending them to clients because I know first hand that they are safe.
Q. As the “food dude” at Gigis, what is oneof your favorite healthy summer recipes?
A. Here’s a recipe I’ve been making a lot lately. I like to add grilled shrimp for extra protein and it’s delicious!
Tricia’s personal endorsement for Tommy: “When I decided to train at Gigi’s, I had asked her to pair me up with someone that would not only kick my butt but keep me motivated. He has NEVER disappointed me!”
