art in motion.

an exceptional show with extraordinary people: the RAWartist:Des Moines shows at Woolys are a relatively new concept to the area but have been received with open arms by the local artist circles and remarkably supported by the community thus far.

Tricia and Hannahwere lucky enough to be chosen and showcased their work at the September Ensemble Show. Surrounded by around 500 attendees and artists presenting a mix of photography, paintings, body art, and also two musical acts, the feature of the night was the runway show.

Hannah styled the hair for the models and Tricia did the makeup. They worked together with Brian, of Shadow Apparel, who styled for the show. The feel was a mix of rockabilly, indie, and rock & roll with big teased hair and vintage touches of pin curls and finger waves. The makeup was also a bit eclectic with a lot of smoke, pops of color, and interesting applications to keep it funky; like lived-in “morning after an awesome night out” makeup. With 17 models, helping hands were needed to bring their visions to life, so Ari, Ashley, and Cheri Greiner lended their talent, also.

At 8:45, with a live band playing, the models strutted their stuff. Just in case you missed it, you can relive it right here:

“my favorite part was seeing everyone finished and how the looks all tied together. it was a really cool experience, and i cant wait to be involved with more events in Des Moines like this,” said Hannah. Tricia agreed, “knowing more and more opportunities like this will be available and featured in Des Moines, that we can be apart of as artists, is my favorite thing about RAW.”

we are so proud that our team had the chance to be a part of such an awesome event. cheers to a successful show and a great showcase of talent! xo.
